Welcome to the Difference Maker Organization ("DMO")

Founded in 2001 by Mandy Schendel, DMO is devoted to teaching young people ages 6-26 how to become active leaders through volunteering.  Through the appointment of State Directors and Local Ambassadors across the United States, we bring teams and programs together which help them aspire for excellence, motivate them to volunteer in their community, and help them teach others to take the same steps.  It is a platform for kids and teens to become actively involved in helping their own community and state.

Our programs include leadership instruction and programs for volunteering opportunities, school leadership and event strategies, fundraising, and community awareness development.  There is always room in our organization for you if you are ready to lead and volunteer!

The Difference Maker Pledge

I {state your name}, solemnly pledge from this day forward, to be a Difference Maker.  I will not judge, but instead I will be of help to my friends, family, and community.  I pledge to help at least one person every day and to teach others, through my own example, how to truly make a difference to others.  		ONE THING CAMPAIGN: The Military

Calling on all kids and families: Take a few minutes to videotape your friends and people in your community, and ask them the following question: "What ONE THING would you like to tell those serving in the military?"  Now's your chance to do something AWESOME for those serving in the U.S. and abroad!  Send your videos to ONETHING@thedifferencemaker.org and each person's answer should be no more than 30 seconds long.  (File's to big?
